Serving as the Director of Photography for Ghost Brothers: Lights Out was a major milestone, as it marked my first time leading the camera department on a paranormal series. I fully embraced the opportunity to establish a distinct visual identity, leaning heavily into deep, atmospheric aesthetics and crafting terrifying, cinematic recreations to elevate the tension of the investigations. Filming throughout 2020 and 2021 aligned perfectly with a major shift in lighting technology, and I leveraged the emergence of high-intensity COB LED fixtures. Specifically, I utilized the new Aputure lights that were just hitting the market at the time, which completely changed the scale of what we could accomplish on the road. Previously, the logistics of a traveling production heavily limited the size and scope of lighting setups. However, these compact but incredibly powerful LED units allowed us to bring enough firepower to illuminate massive, eerie locations efficiently. This technology enabled me to shape expansive, moody scenes and deliver stylized visuals that felt significantly bigger and more cinematic than anything seen on a traditional traveling show before.
