Serving as both Producer and Director of Photography, "Gone" marked my first collaboration with Sleek Teeth and served as the visual introduction for their debut single. Working closely alongside director Jane Slater, our goal was to bring a haunting alien world to life, a surreal space where entities capture the most striking things they find across the universe, only to subject others to their own subjective interpretation of beauty. The narrative and camera work were designed to evoke a profound sense of perpetual isolation. We wanted to build an atmosphere that felt deeply confining until the pivotal moment where a chance is taken. The visual arc explores the idea that instead of denying something new, running head-on into the unknown is what ultimately sets you free. To translate this conceptual narrative into a striking visual language, I made extensive use of complex programmed lasers. By carefully orchestrating these light arrays, I constructed tangible, glowing barriers on screen. These laser grids effectively separated the subjects from the things they were observing, acting as a powerful visual metaphor for our own self-imposed cages.
