Serving as both the Director and Director of Photography for Sleek Teeth's music video, "Same," allowed me to execute a unique and highly experimental visual concept. We chose to shoot the entire project exclusively using a thermal imaging camera, completely stripping away traditional lighting and color palettes to rely entirely on heat signatures. The core challenge and creative opportunity lay in manipulating thermodynamics to drive the storytelling. We experimented extensively with various hot and cold sources—ranging from iced liquids and heated props to direct skin contac,t to reveal hidden elements within the frame. By controlling temperature gradients rather than light levels, we built a layered visual narrative centered on the themes of secrets and hidden messages. This approach resulted in an otherworldly, high-contrast aesthetic that perfectly mirrored the mood of the track while pushing the boundaries of conventional music video cinematography.
